1. Overview
nooPlayer is a local video player for iPhone and iPad. It is designed to play files that you place in the app or explicitly select through Apple’s system file picker. No account is required.
2. Data we collect
We do not collect personal information, usage analytics, diagnostics, identifiers, location data, contacts, browsing history, or advertising data from nooPlayer. The app does not include advertising or tracking technologies.
3. Files and information stored on your device
To provide playback features, nooPlayer may store the following information locally on your device:
- Videos and subtitle files you import into the app.
- References to files or folders you explicitly select.
- Playback position, duration, completion status, and recent playback history.
- Audio-track and subtitle preferences.
- Locally generated video thumbnails.
- App language and interface preferences.
This information is used only to provide nooPlayer’s features. It is not uploaded to us or made available to other nooPlayer users.
4. Access to your media
nooPlayer accesses only files stored in its app container or files and folders you choose through iOS or iPadOS. When you link an external folder, access is handled through Apple’s security-scoped file access. nooPlayer cannot browse another app’s private storage without an item being made available through the system Files interface.
5. Third-party software and platform services
nooPlayer uses the open-source VLCKit media playback library to decode and play media on your device. nooPlayer does not use VLCKit for analytics, advertising, or tracking. Interactions with Apple services, including the App Store, iCloud Drive, or third-party Files providers, are governed by the privacy policies of those service providers.
6. Retention and deletion
Local playback data remains on your device until you remove the related item, clear the app’s local data, or uninstall nooPlayer. Deleting nooPlayer removes data stored inside the app’s container. Files linked from an external folder remain at their original location and are managed by you or the relevant Files provider.
7. Children’s privacy
nooPlayer does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else. The app does not provide social networking, public content sharing, messaging, advertising, or account creation.
8. Changes to this policy
If nooPlayer’s privacy practices change, this policy will be updated and the effective date above will be revised. Material changes will also be reflected in the app’s App Store privacy disclosures.
